Amanda Håøy Horn joins the Engegård Quartet
We are thrilled to announce that Amanda Håøy Hornjoins the Engegård Quartet as our new Second Violin.
"From the very first moment with the Engegård Quartet, I felt among kindred spirits, with the same love for quartet-playing and the string quartet repertoire. It is a gift to join a group which has found its united voice, and the fact that Norwegian and Scandinavian music-including folk, classical, and contemporary-are an important part of the quartet's profile makes me feel at home in more ways than one. I'm excited about what lies ahead!"
— Amanda Håøy Horn, Second Violin
"I look forward to every rehearsal with Amanda. I feel that we discover the music together and I value her careful approach. The funny thing is, is that we have finally 'come home'; Amanda grew up a stone's throw from where we rehearse. As we say in Norwegian, you don't have to cross the river to find water."
— Arvid Engegård, First Violin
Amanda succeeds Laura Custodio Sabas, who departs the quartet after 4 remarkable years of musical collaboration.
The Engegård Quartet will always be grateful for Laura's passionate approach to music and quartet-playing, and for her interest in contemporary music which lead to exciting commissions. They wish her the very best of luck!
