Klassisk kos - Bringing classical music to elderly

This season will see us not only in concert halls, but also performing Beethoven for teenagers and all-time classics for the elderly. We're excited to meet new audiences, and to bring what we love to people who can't travel to hear us ourselves.

The Engegård Quartet wants to evoke memories and warm feelings with classical “hits” such as Grieg’s Morning Mood and Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, as well as folk music, hymns, and music from film, television, and radio.

The string quartet aims to create a peaceful, welcoming atmosphere and connect with the audience through both music and conversation. Where appropriate, audience members are also welcome to join in with singing or simple movements.

Feedback from our audience members:

The concert with the Engegård Quartet was absolutely fantastic!

Here is our feedback and observations following this wonderful experience:

Our participants thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It was clear that the music resonated deeply with them, and many spoke warmly about the experience afterwards. The atmosphere in the room became magical.

The program selection was perfect. Hearing great masterpieces by Mozart, the powerful strains of Má vlast, and—in addition—beautiful, homegrown Norwegian music provided wonderful musical variety.

The length of the concert was just right for our group. The commentary between the pieces worked excellently.

It created a safe, intimate, and informal setting that made the classical music feel very accessible to everyone. This was an unforgettable lunch concert—part of the "Den kulturelle spaserstokken" (The Cultural Walking Stick) initiative—that provided a great boost and plenty of positive energy.

We would be delighted to welcome you back on a future occasion!
